Our Origins
Andrew Orme began his journey into genealogy while researching his family name on the internet. Recognizing a gap in accessible, comprehensive resources for Orme family history, Andrew created the website "www.orme.ws" in March 2002, where Orme descendants and researchers could come together, share information, and build a collective understanding of their ancestry.
The Orme Genealogy website was moved to "www.orme.uk" in November 2025.

In 2021, Andrew also used AncestryDNA to trace his origins from over 2,600 regions around the world. Take a look at the region estimate they created for him.
The Contributions of Stephen Orme
Much of the foundational information that enriches this website was generously provided by Stephen Orme, who hosted www.orme.org.uk many years ago. His extensive research and dedication have been invaluable. Stephen's contributions have helped shape Orme Genealogy into the robust and detailed resource.
