Orme House is located at 4 Church Street, Hampton, in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

It is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England, indicating its national historic and architectural importance.

According to local history sources, it was commissioned by the crown in 1698.

Over the years, it has had notable residents. David Garrick, the famous 18th-century actor, lived there. Thomas Holloway, a crown artist in the early 19th century, also made the house his home. The building has also been used for educational purposes: for example, it housed the first Ladies’ Academy in Middlesex around 1770, and later, during the Victorian era, it was a private boarding school. After World War II, it returned to being a private residence.

Architecturally, it's a fine example of early Georgian design, with later decorative additions that reflect both its prestige and the tastes of its occupants over time.
